With a highly experienced and qualified team of pathologists, biochemists, consultants, geneticists and paramedical staff, we have several full-fledged departments of laboratory medicine under one roof.

A fully equipped and automated biochemistry lab with several back-ups included performing even haemoglobin and protein electrophoresis tests to screen for basic abnormalities of proteins and haemoglobin of red cells. Prenatal screening tests for Downs Syndrome, Trisomy 21 with Double, Triple and Quadruple markers testing ensure the expectant mother is screened for congenital abnormalities in children.

Our Microbiological services include routine, day-to-day diagnostic testing for infectious diseases to the latest specialized, esoteric testing required by other hospitals, integrating healthcare delivery networks, as well as serving as a centralized referral center for clinical trials in the pharmaceutical industry. A wide range of services are available from our CAP & NABL accredited, fully integrated bacteriology and serology automated laboratory.

Flow cytometry technology is used to identify blood cancers and to ascertain CD4/ CD8 counts in HIV patients to assess their immunity.

Our department of histopathology is equipped with state of the art equipment with highly specialized, skilled diagnosticians to translate technology into valuable clinical insights and contribute to patient care. Extensive expertise in Anatomic and Histopathology including Nephropathology, Neuropathology Oncopathology, Hepatopathology and Cytology is offered.

Neuberg has gained a reputation for preparing excellent paraffin-embedded, hematoxylin and eosin stained sections as well as special stained sections. A wide range of specimens are handled with skilled expertise including bone marrow biopsies, surgical resections, and biopsies, dermatology biopsies, tissue obtained at autopsy, second opinion consultation, and a wide variety of research specimens.

With India’s first and only digital pathology center in Bangalore, with enhanced capabilities in case of tissue diagnostics, providing whole image analysis, high-resolution image review and scoring features to help our pathologist provide the most accurate results, Neuberg group consists of innovators and pioneers introducing Automation, Digital Pathology, Image analytics, Immunofluorescence, Rapid tissue processing and Liquid-based cytology in the region. We are well recognized as early adopters of:

  • The first installation of the Xpress tissue processor 50 which can enable pathological tissue processing within 2 hours which help us save time and provide valuable insights during surgeries and other medical procedures where time plays a pivotal role in patient management.
  • We were the first to introduce the FDA approved instrument for Liquid based cytology a central requirement for cervical cancer screening programs.

Our primary focus is towards infectious diseases, syndrome panels, screening oncological markers using modern molecular biological techniques with fully automated system starting from DNA extraction till analysis of results. Molecular Pathology is commonly used in diagnosis of Cancer and Infectious Diseases. Techniques include quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR), multiplex PCR, DNA Microarray, In Situ Hybridization, DNA Sequencing, Antibody based Immunofluorescence Tissue Assays, Molecular Profiling of Pathogens and analysis of Bacterial genes for Antimicrobial Resistance etc

The center of excellence in genomics is the first of its kind in the state of TN with a fully equipped next generation sequencer to screen and identify genetic abnormalities, chromosomal anomalies at the cellular level there by arriving at the root of the problem. Genetic testing has potential benefits whether the results are positive or negative for a gene mutation. Test results can provide a sense of relief from uncertainty and help people make informed decisions about managing their health care. Genomics based diagnostics is gaining wide acceptance in areas like Reproductive Medicine, Early Diagnosis and treatment planning for Cancer and management of other rare diseases and inherited disorders.

Advances in Genomic and Proteomic Science over the past decade have led to the development of “targeted” diagnostics and therapeutics that leverage knowledge of an individual’s genetic make-up to create a more personalized approach to healthcare. Genomic Testing enables us to identify an individual’s susceptibility to disease, predict how a given patient will respond to a particular drug, and match patients with the right therapeutics.

The emerging field of “Metabolomics” is an area in which many small molecule metabolites from body fluids or tissues are detected quantitatively in a single step. This area of laboratory medicine promises immense potential for early diagnosis, therapy monitoring and for understanding the pathogenesis of many diseases.

Next Generation Mass Spectrometry based Proteomics Assays are becoming increasingly important in Clinical Laboratory Medicine. Some of the most common Analysis are Therapeutic Drug Monitoring of Immunosuppressant, Vitamin D, Steroids, Newborn Screening and Bacterial identification in just a drop of blood or dried blood spots.

The NBS lab at Neuberg Ehrlich can handle more than a 100 tests a day with over 30 different parameters of inborn errors being screened in new born children. Multiple technologies like fluorimetry and ELISA help in arriving at the detection in these cases. Positive cases can be confirmed by our next generation sequencing technology in-house, making it a one stop shop for diseases of the new born. The newly launching Lysosomal Storage Disorder (LSD) screening tests within the same lab follow the same principle by providing an end-point solution for the rarest of enzyme deficiency disorders such as MPS1, Gaucher’s disease, Pompe disease, Tay-Sachs disease and Niemann-Pick disease.
