Know what is Corona?

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.

Symptoms

The COVID-19 virus affects different people in different ways. COVID-19 is a respiratory disease and most infected people will develop mild to moderate symptoms and recover without requiring special treatment. People who have underlying medical conditions and those over 60 years old have a higher risk.

Common Symptoms include

Fever
Tiredness
Dry Cough

Other Symptoms include

Shortness of breath
Aches & Pains
Dry Cough
Sore throat
Few people will report diarrhoea,
nausea and running nose

Note: People with mild symptoms who are otherwise healthy should self-isolate and contact their medical provider or a COVID-19 information line for advice on testing and referral. People with fever, cough or difficulty breathing should call their doctor and seek medical attention.

How it Spreads

The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes
Currently COVID-19 is spreading from person to person (Personal Contact like; Shake hand, Hugging, Social gatherings)
Touching contaminated objects
Mass gathering

How to prevent?

Wash your hands regularly with soap and water, or clean them with alcohol-based hand rub
Maintain at least 1 metre distance between you and people coughing or sneezing
Wear a face mask (If required)
Avoid contact with sick people
Always cover your cough & sneeze

Avoid touching your face
Stay home (Self Quarantine) if you feel unwell
Refrain from smoking and other activities that weaken the lungs.
Practice physical distancing by avoiding unnecessary travel and staying away from large groups of people.
